I was surfing the internet when I came across a Ted Talk seminar about self image and the deception of perfectionism. In a previous post I recently shared the stigma about being a self-proclaimed perfectionist, and how I work every day to beat that reoccurring thoughts/images in my mind.
Iskra Lawrence is an ambassador for self love and self confidence. Expressing her views and statistic on photoshop and being confident in the skin your in.
In the seminar she questions the audience on how many times you’ve ever looked in the mirror and instantly scrutinize your insecurities.
In that moment I felt a big pang in my heart as I know I subconsciously do it without realising. Its like the more you stare at that imperfection, the more bigger it gets.
I know I’m not alone in doing this either!
This known fact made me realised I need to rewire my brain to consciously catch this loathing thought and change it into a more loving feeling.
This technique can be for gaining self confidence within yourself from your physical to your emotional confidence.
Each morning when you look at yourself in the mirror, I want you to express 3 qualities you admire about yourself.
This can be from your admiration of yourself, to what supportive family and friends say about you, but you have to truly believe it ( that’s the key).
After this affirmation, I want you to celebrate by having a little dance.
We are kicking the new month with yet another Inspirational women who has coached me through her Facebook live videos, her amazing book & Facebook support group to always remain positive and know that the universe not only has my back but it also working with me to make my goals a reality ( no matter how much I doubt myself).

September’s edition goes to the one and only Kathrin Zenkina!!
”Kathrin Zenkina is a master mindset coach and success strategist for entrepreneurial women, an author, and the creator of the Manifestation Babe brand. Finding herself in over $25,000 of debt, depressed, frustrated, and broke in early 2016, she used all the principles she teaches on today to take herself from a place of despair to a successful multiple six figure coaching business. Kathrin’s purpose and passion lies in empowering women to unleash their inner magic, break through their limitations, and manifest realities wilder than their dreams.”
1.Tell us about your brand?
My brand is Manifestation Babe— a personal development and coaching business that sits on a simple mission: Empower women to unleash their inner magic, breakthrough their limitations, and manifest realities wilder than their dreams.
2.How did you find your passion?
I became obsessed with the Law of Attraction when I first watched “The Secret” at 16 years old. Soon after watching reading the book, I moved on to reading every single book that I could get my hands on that related to creating your dream life. I was on a constant mission of exploring new ways to become the best version of myself, and help others do the same. I began to teach other women on the concept of manifesting through my very first digital course called “Unleash Your Inner Manifestation Babe” and the business pretty much took off from there and evolved into the brand it is today. My passion mainly comes from the inner knowing that I came onto this planet to challenge traditional mediocre thinking and help shift women’s mindsets so that they can, too, unleash their greatest potential.
3.What inspires you?
Travel and having the freedom to be able to do so with no limitations. When I was building my brand in the early stages, I had to sacrifice my greatest love and passion in order to invest every single penny into my business. Now, I’m able to see the world WHILE continuing to build my business and it feels incredible!
4.What is your favourite quote?
“The best is yet to come” and “life is happening for you, not to you” by Tony Robbins.
It’s gotten me through a lot of difficult times and helped me stay positive in some pretty tough situations.
5.What difficulties did you fall into when creating your passion and how did you overcome it?
Lots and lots of doubts about whether or not I had it in me to continue when things would fall apart. I lost my website out of nowhere the night before a major course launch and let’s just say I wouldn’t wish that on anyone! Having a consistent journaling, prayer, meditation, and visualization practice has helped me release a lot of anxiety around building my business and step into the overall big vision that continues to pull me through.
6.What’s one advice you would share to the world?
Never quit. Don’t even think about it for a second. Anytime you feel like giving up, you’re literally 5 minutes before the miracle. Stay the course and you’ll experience your breakthrough. Experiencing the miracle is worth it, I promise.
Oh wow. I have so many! At this moment, I want to shoutout “The Big Leap” by Gay Hendricks. That book changed my mindset and my business.
8.What is your self care routine?
My self care routine involves getting at least 8 hours of sleep per night, saging my apartment every single morning, and meditating when I need it. I also follow a ketogenic diet that helps keep my mental clarity on point so that I can think clearly on a daily basis. There’s nothing worse than trying to create content while feeling lethargic from carbs. I also make sure to stay hydrated with lots of water and take regular walks in between the long hours of sitting behind my computer.
9.When was the last time you did something you were afraid of?
OOOH, literally a few weeks ago. I enrolled myself into a 6 day long intensive public speaking training to overcome my fear of public speaking. Let’s just say I cried on my way into the class, and left the class at the end of the 6th day feeling like a brand new person. It was one of the most empowering experiences of my life. It was SO worth it!.
Can you believe this will be the 3rd month of inspirational women series! Time really does fly by when your inspired by these amazing women. If you didn’t catch last month edition, click right here
I am so happy to introduce you all to a really good friend of mine PETA RAMIA * screams*. I first spoke to Peta in a spiritual facebook group and through our short conversation, we found out that we were already following each other on social media and had so much in common ( coincidence I think not).
Peta Ramia is a inspirational writer and founder of PetaRamia.com, which focuses on self improvement, self care and healthy motivation in all aspects of living. Peta is now more passionate than ever and covers a wider range of topics such as Lifestyle, Beauty, Self Care and Wellness aimed for women. Aside from blogging, Peta recently has started sharing her life on Youtube. She loves the simple things in life and inspiring others.
So lets crack on…
What is your brand?
My brand is essentially me, Peta Ramia. I am a blogger and youtuber who is sharing my journey and insights with the world. I’m not really quite sure where this is going, but I’m as passionate as ever creating all my own content and inspiring others. I’m just going with it and having fun! A lot of bloggers often have too many expectations, and want to be successful, which can take a long time, as well as strive to be like other bloggers, but the key is to write about your TRUE passions, show your readers vulnerability and your true self, which naturally people are attracted to and always be authentic!
What does your self care routine look like?
Being alone, taking a shower or bath in the dark with candles, pampering myself and also dressing up a bit with music on, dancing in my room! Lol and distracting myself from any problems or negative thoughts. I also love to read my own angel cards, and journal the messages I receive. Taking this time I need really helps me recharge my battery that life and other people can drain from me.
What advice would you give to your younger self?
Stop caring what people think, don’t let fear hold you back from important things in life, and you are beautiful the way you are.
How to over come low-self esteem?
Focus on the things you generally like about yourself, enhance them and take your time to make those beautiful features really pop out. This helps distract you from the things you don’t like about yourself.
What’s your favourite quote?
From the movie Pursuit Of Happiness, Will Smith says to his son, “Don’t ever let someone tell you that you can’t do something. You got a dream, you gotta protect it. When people can’t do something themselves, they are going to tell you that you can’t do it. You want something, go get it. Period.” It gives me goosebumps EVERY time!
Who are you inspired by?
Ralph Smart from Infinite Waters youtube channel. His videos are so inspiring and they are such wake up calls to reality. He covers a lot of topics about spirituality, and I think anyone can be inspired from at least one of his videos.
What positive affirmations do you tell yourself?
It’s from a poem I wrote a year ago, and still resonates with me today:
Embracing my quirkiness,
Accepting myself for being the quiet one,
I’m happy knowing I don’t need to be loud to be heard,
I hear myself.
To me, being spiritual means;
Finding happiness from all of the above,
But most of all;
What is your ideal get away?
On an island somewhere, or in a cabin deep in the woods, away from society and with my loved ones, making connections and fun memories.
What is your favourite book?
The Body Book by Cameron Diaz- that was when I first starting learning about the importance of health, the truth about processed foods and why exercise is so important. Also Light Is The New Black by Rebecca Campbell- I always hid my spirituality away from others, but this book opened up a whole new world to me, and made me come out of the closet!
When was the last time you did something you were afraid of?
A month ago when I released my first youtube video! Was scary but at the same time, so much fun and people loved it! You would be amazed what you can do and how great you are, by facing your fears and just going with it. Life’s too short!
Thank you Peta Ramia for participating in the inspirational women of the month interview. Make sure to check her out blog and youtube page!!
I’ve got some news I want to celebrate with you all!!
But, first of all I want to say a huge thank you to YOU! , yes you 🙂
If it wasn’t for all your lovely comments and inspiration, I wouldn’t be blogging as confidently as I am today . Thank you for reading my blog, I am so thankful for you.
Now that the mushy bits out of the way. Lets crack on!!
GOOD NEWS NO.1:
It’s was an honour to have my first ever article publish via Consumer Health Digest. Initially, I was overwhelmed by the experience as I started to have many doubts. I kept wondering what to write? will my content be good? Will they reject my article after they read it? But, those fears didn’t stop me from reaching the ultimate goal and I’m proud to say that it’s up and I’m so happy with the result and honestly pinched myself because I didn’t believe it.
This blog has been received very well from people all around the world, the positive achievements that you all share with me is inspiring and amazing and I love speaking to each and everyone of you. I had an idea that just would not leave my head no matter what, so with a lot of thought and planning…*drum roll*…. I have created us a space where we can uplift, empower and share advice and tips with one another in safe community where theres no judgement but pure love and supporting vibes.
What a great start to my new concept of acknowledging and celebrating inspirational women around the world each month. The great feedback from this new concept has given me the push to continue. Last’s month inspirational women of the month was the lovely Isobel Palacios. If you have not read it yet, you definitely should.
This month is dedicated to Nodreen aka Style With Substance. The content that is posted on style with substance really resonate with me. The concepts she talks about from fashion to advice to law attractions is just mesmerising. The details she puts in the videos, I believe everyone can relate to no matter who you are or how old you are!
So without further ado, lets get on to the interview:
1.How did you find your passion?
My passion for YouTube is somewhat of a family thing. I have three siblings, two of whom joined before me and pretty much showed me the ropes. But I’d say that the pivotal moment for me was during one weekend, where I found myself sucked into a black hole of recommended hair, beauty, fashion and lifestyle videos, loving every single minute of it. I knew after a few weeks of being a passive watcher that there was a space for me to give YouTube my steer and since posting my ‘How To Buy A House’ video, I haven’t looked back since.
“Style With Substance for me represents being multifaceted and not being put in a box in this day and age”
2.What difficulties did you fall into when creating your passion and how did you overcome it?
I can’t say I did experience any real difficulties. Naturally not having a huge social following before I started YouTube meant I had to start pretty much from scratch, which means posting videos that only get 20 views over the course of a few weeks. Growing pains I call it! But there was nothing more thrilling than doing that and knowing that absolutely everyone watching was a complete stranger to me. For me the really difficult thing was not posting too much, especially in my first few months as I had an abundance of ideas, but only 50% of which would actually be interesting to watch lol!.
3.How do you remain positive?
I remain positive by trying to fill my environment and my circle with just that, positivity. I don’t watch the news (hard as that has been over the past few weeks), my close friends and family, I consider to be incredibly positive, and I watch and read a lot of uplifting and faith building content. I think in life there will always be an opportunity to wallow in a negative moment, which is why I believe positivity is a choice that we all have to make daily.
4. What inspires/motivates you ?
I get inspired by almost anything. It could be something as simple as a few motivational words in a good personal development book, watching a well edited and shot YouTube video, a really insightful conversation with a good friend, or simply a pretty post on Instagram.
“I like to think of myself as a woman with substance too”
5. How do you get out of a funk/rut?
It’s not easy to get out of a real rut, but I often find that to notice a change you have to make a big one. Monumental action is what I use to get out of a funk. I take one BIG action, or switch up an instrumental part of my daily routine to really knock my socks off and wake me up again. For a smaller rut, think glass of wine, face mask, my favourite candle and a good nights sleep.
6.What is your favourite quote?
Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication – Leonardo Da Vinci – I live by this.
“I’m just a normal 21st century woman, like you, trying to tell her story.”
7.Who are you most inspired by?
I am inspired by other YouTubers, my mother, father and siblings, the authors that have blessed my life with such incredible knowledge and wisdom and frankly, anyone who has ever presented me with a new perspective or way to view life.
8. What is your favourite book?
This was a tough one and I might cheat a little. All time favourite has to go to ‘The Secret’ by Rhonda Byrne. That’s my go to, if I ever want to reset my thoughts and get me back onto a more positive wavelength. It is also the book that introduced me to the law of attraction and essentially changed my life. However, I have to give a special mention to ‘Rich Dad, Poor Dad’ by Robert Kiyosaki and the Compound Effect by Darren Hardy.
9.When was the last time you did something you were afraid of?
Very recently. While I haven’t spoken about it in detail (more to come in a future video on my YouTube channel), quitting my full time job and deciding to follow my dreams has been the scariest thing I’ve ever done and also contemplated doing. Now that I’m living my truth, I almost can’t remember any other way of living! I do miss the tea breaks and canteen chats though.
10. What is something your proud of?
I am most proud of the commitment I’ve shown my channel if I’m being honest. This is hands down the only thing in my life I’ve built from the ground up and stuck at for several years. The fact that it is now making me a living is a bonus.
Thank you Nodreen for participating in the inspirational women of the month interview. Make sure to check her out via Youtube.
